New Trump Apprentice Blows It

The final two applicants were both stars in Donald Trumps eyes in last night’s finale of The Apprentice on NBC. Trump had a tough decision to make. Trump surprised many viewers by firing more than one applicant at a time on several occasions. It would not have been surprising to see him hire both of the finalist. The unexpected part was when Trump picked one of the two finalist as The Apprentice and then ask the winner if the other finalist should also be hired. That is exactly what Trump did and he seemed very surprised by the answer that he received from Randell Pinkett the season four winner of The Apprentice.

The Apprentice
producers did a pretty good job of editing what The Motley Fool reorts:

Booing was audible as Randal turned to acknowledge them. I agree, and not just because Randal backstabbed a colleague he said he respected. More importantly, I believe, Trump turned away serious talent that wanted badly to work for him.

The runner-up to Randell was Rebecca Jarvis. Randall and Rebecca seemed to become pretty good friends in the closing episodes. Rebecca was rumored in some circles to have better odds of winning with her calm, cool, and collective approach to everything and everyone she came in contact with. The final episode of The Apprentice showed that Rebecca could definitely take the heat better than Randell. She sat calm with very little change in her facial expressions or posture as Randell tore her down in response to Trump’s final questions about why Rebecca should not be hired. The same could not be said for Randell. He would shake his head and squirm in his seat every time Rebecca uttered the least little bit of criticism. Randell nailed down any doubts about his loyalty towards his new found fried with his response to Trump’s inquiry about hiring Rebecca. He bailed on his friend and took the wind out of his own sail with his response. Rebecca sat with very little change in her expression as Randell responded to Trump.

It was a final scene that would make a person want feel sorry for Rebecca until her Apprentice finale task sponsor Yahoo! ran a Market Wire story in the Yahoo! Financial section of their web site this afternoon. The story tells of Rebecca getting a chance of skipping right past The Apprentice seat with SYS-CON Media who has been “listed in Inc 500 three years in a row as the fastest growing, privately held publishing company in America..” SYS-CON is a great fit for Rebecca and seems to be offering a pretty sweet deal on the surface.

SYS-CON’s offer to Ms. Jarvis will be to run the events division of the company as president and CEO with an annual salary of $150,000.

There are no reports on whether Rebecca will accept the offer from SYS-CON. There are also no reports on whether Trump is going to skip Randell’s advice and offer Rebecca a job in the Trump organization. It would not be surprising. Randell’s got his title and night of fame. He could have sealed the night by simply saying, “Mr. Trump, I want to enjoy the title tonight as The Apprentice, but why don’t you invite Rebecca back tomorrow morning so that you can discuss an offer for her in the Trump organization.” It did not happen that way. The Apprentice blew a great opportunity to seal a season filled with surprises.

I just feel that Randal is a little selfish.
I think Randal is not as good as Rebecca from the series except his degrees.
In my memory of the competations of the past, it is always Rebecaa stepped up to take the pressure.
On the contrary, Randal was blamed more than twice for his flabbiness.
And I also think he is not as honest as Rebecca.
    He is very foxy.
I don’t like Randal at all.

Some feel that Rebecca would have politely done the same as Randall did, if Trumph had tapped her to do so. Both were fine, highly professional choices, perhaps the best Trumph has had throughout all four seasons. I think both would have chosen to eliminate strong competition when winning high profile leadership is at hand.

For heaven’s sake! By what factual basis is Rebecca equal or nearly equal to Randal in management ability or competence? Those of you who think that Rebecca is on the same level as Randal either have very low standards or didn’t watch all 13 episodes.

Rebecca lost every task in which she was PM, except the one where she was in a 2-person team with Randal and he was instrumental in helping her to win that task. Not to mention that the last task was about raising money for the charity and not only did Rebecca not raise ANY money, but at the event her charity got one measly sign and an envelope in the gift bag! That’s it. Randal’s sponsor told him not to ask the bigwigs for money too but he ignored them. Also, her team once traded her because she was a weak player. ——- If you can ignore all those facts and still look at someone with such a terrible performance record and say they are equal to someone like Randal who was UNDEFEATED as PM, then it’s clear you are full of crap.

Then you say that “Randal would have lost nothing by hiring Rebecca.” Give me a break – he would have lost his self-respect. Since no other apprentice winner was asked that question, it was inappropriate to ask Randal, especially for such an inferior opponent. Also, Randal wasn’t hired as VP of Trump’s Personnel Department. If Trump still thought Rebecca was pretty enough to hire despite her losing record, then he was free to hire her after the show. It was inappropriate for him to raise the matter when he did.

The only reason Rebecca was in the finale was because Trump went on a firing rampage this season and fired all of Randal’s real competition. She made it to the final 2 by sheer luck, not ability.

C’mon, Donald has always been “The Trump” the whole episodes and firing 2 or 4 people
in an episode. That’s not the common rule but he’s the BOSS and what the boss wants, the boss gets. He should have just said, “You’re both hired” and get the damn show over with.

i just saw the final in New Zealand a cuple of nights ago and i thought it was stupid. Whats the point in the final if it’s gonna be a draw! In any competition there is never a draw for a winner. i would have hate to watch the final to see no winner and loser. by giving her the same job hes pretty much saying shes just as good. If there was a sprint in the olympics and the officials asked the winner if he would like to share his gold medal with the guy that came second it wouldnt make sence. Trump asking that question ruined it for me. i thought Randell was by far the best in that whole competition. the final made him out to look arogant because he was defending himself and deserved to win. All other finals people have done the same but because randell was such a clear winner people bagged him to make the competition look more even. Randell deserved to become the next apprentice and rebecca was not in his league at all. She was got though.
