The Million Dollar Homepage
A college student in the UK has made one million dollars in under six months selling pixels. He has been selling pixels for a dollar each since August. The MillionDollarHomePage.com web site says there are only 1000 pixels left to sell as seen in the image below.
Those 1000 pixels are as good as gone unless you have at least $21,400. That is what the current bid is on eBay.co.uk for the final 1000 pixels. The auction is scheduled to end on Jan. 11.
The owner of the Million Dollar Homepage says he started the project to raise money to help pay for college. When asked if he is worried about copycats he says, “Not at all. It is bound to happen…” And it already has happened. There are at least two sites using a similar idea. Pixel4Jesus.com has sold over 130,000 pixels in less than two months. It looks like Ads4Jesus.com is rasing money for somethng other than college expenses.
