We homeschooled our kids.

We are very glad we did. They are well functioning adults - leaders rather than followers.

Public schools teach obedience and sacrifices learning.

Enjoy the time with your kids.

You bring up some valid questions about the school systems. Here in Texas, in my opinion, they teach to "the test" So much time is spent preparing for the required standardized tests that I dont think kids really learn.

As far as God and morals in schools, that is a good subject for debate. What ever happened to learning morals and manners at home from parents? These days, parents dont know what to do. Certain things parents dont want taught in schools, and yet they dont teach at home. You're right in that the school systems should not be babysitters, trend setters or morals teachers. Parents need to get real. It's a nasty world out there.

I learned a lot from my parents and my teachers. Of course, way back then, we still had prayer in school. These days we try to please too many and end up pleasing no one.
