We do the Easter Bunny in this house. My son reasoned Santa away years ago but agrees that his sister shouldn’t be told yet he thought it was fun to have that moment in life when you can believe anything is possible.

I worked for a family when I worked with autistic children who didn’t do the Easter Bunny or Santa stuff because she was devastated when she found out as a child and never wanted to hurt her kids that way.

I think you have to know your children and how they will react. Did my son loose trust in us for it? No he has always been a truth teller and tries to teach his sister to tell the truth. I don’t think that my daughter will see it as a lie nor be devastated by this. But you have given me something to think about when her time comes to tell us that she no longer believes. I don’t think I’ve told my dad yet. Then again I still believe. ;-}
