Summer Fun

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

It is time to update family and friend with some pictures of Riley. Riley has been a very strong and supportive boy recently for his little brother Caden. Caden has been hospitalized several times this year and even had heart surgery a few weeks ago. Riley has remained strong through it all.

Riley is now over 3 1/2 year old. He enjoys riding his bike (tricycle) and playing with his brother. He knows more sign language than anyone in the family even though his hearing is likely the best of everyone in the house. He loves watching Signing Times videos with Caden and teaches Mommy and Daddy what he learns.

Riley can now recite his address including street name, house number, city, and state. He has also picked up on some basic addition skills.

The picture below shows Riley on his new twin size mattress with his new Thomas and Friends bedding set. He has now gone a few months staying clean and dry at night. The twin mattress replaced the crib size mattress that was on race car bed for almost two years.

Little Ace on the Flight Line

Riley hanging out at the airportt

Today Riley got to his wish. He has been asking for a while if he could go on an airplane ride with Daddy. Riley helped me pre-flight the plane and then we belted him into his booster seat and took to the air. Riley seemed a little nervous so we did not stay up for very long. The first thing he said after we got parked was, “Can we go back up Daddy?” I told him we would go another day.

It was a load of fun. The whole family went for a walk on the new Cooper River Bridge this evening after church. You can see more pictures here. Enjoy!

Oh yeah…Check out Daddy’s personal blog “The Land of Ozz” for more about our visit.

Meet Riley

Saturday, July 9th, 2005

I will let Riley introduce himself with a priceless performance given on the way back from a day of “Go Bye Bye” with Daddy in the “Green Car”. That translates to me taking my son Riley (30 months old) out for the afternoon. We were planning on walking up onto the new Cooper River Bridge and then seeing a movie. The bridge thing did not work out due to weather but we did get to see a movie and make a run to one of the bog box discount stores for mass quantities of diapers, paper goods, and other things that are much cheaper to buy in bulk.

On the way home Riley started singing. He must have sang this one song about a dozen times on the way home. Once I got stopped in front of our house I ask him to repeat it one more time for the camera. I know you will enjoy this as much as I did.
